Mr Tim Woolford MD FRCS(ORL-HNS) |
I am a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at the University Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Salford Royal Hospitals and the Spire Manchester Hospital. As a Consultant ENT Surgeon I treat patients with many different ear, nose and throat conditions. Much of my time is now dedicated to specialist nasal surgery. I manage a variety of nasal conditions and have a particular interest in plastic surgery of the nose. Between my NHS and private practice I perform over 70 rhinoplasties each year. Rhinoplasty (nose cosmetic surgery) and nasal septal surgery is performed for those who have cosmetic or nasal airway problems. These problems may follow trauma or occur in patients who are referred to me with a complication of previous surgery. A significant part of my workload is dedicated to nasal reconstructive surgery for patients who have nasal skin cancer. This is complex surgery which often requires several stages. I also treat patients who have congenital or traumatic conditions of the pinna (external ear). | |
I am a Fellow of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, Chairman of the Academic Committee of The British Academic Conference in Otolaryngology and a Member of Council of Facial Plastic Surgery UK. I am editor of the Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery section of the Department of Health ENT e-learning project, and I am an Intercollegiate Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. I am also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Laryngology & Otology where I review articles and advise if they are suitable for publication. My interest in rhinology and nasal plastic surgery is reflected in invitations to lecture at meetings and teach on several national courses and I am co-organiser of the Manchester/Liverpool Rhinology & Rhinoplasty Course. I have also written numerous articles related to nasal surgery. For further details please review my curriculum vitae |
